You know there has got to be thousands upon millions of recipes that utilizes every thing we call edible and then not so edible items.  I am probably one of those ladies that has several thousands recipes just laying around.  They were my mothers, my grandmothers,  my sisters, sister-in-laws, friends, and neighbors.  I also have picked up quite a few over the internet, out of magazines and then I have even just kind of made them up.

When you read the recipe, picture what the ingredient taste like alone then add the next ingredient as you keep reading until you have added all the elements.  Sometimes that works then others you are thinking – why should I include that – but find out later it was just a squirt or drop of this or that and sometimes that is all that is needed.  Like lemon juice – why would you put a squirt of something sour into something sweet- but somehow it brings out the best flavors and blends them all together.

This market season we are offering something called FoodLink offered by Purdue Extension.  FoodLink helps you select fresh fruits and vegetables.  Some things like avocados you aren’t sure which one to pick but with Food Link, it takes the guess work out of what is ripe and which ones are not.

This is a great idea because even though I cook and bake a lot sometimes I am not sure how to cook something or when it is really ripe.

Using FoodLink is going to take a lot of guess work out of preparing your meals and knowing when to use certain vegetables and fruits.

I was the Market Master for Southport Farmers Market which I started 5 years ago. I have turned the market over to a very quialified lady who loves working with customers and vendors alike. I spend many hours working on the updates to post here and bring you all the newest and exciting information of products, gardening, cooking and baking. I also am a Administrator for a popular Blog known as Jenn's Blah Blah Blog. Other things I do are fishing and baking.
