Hot off the Press: Follow the Eclipse®

With the warmer weather upon us, and the sun shining brightly, you want to protect your baby’s delicate eyes as you are on the go, whether it is in the car or taking your baby for a walk down the lane.  Have you heard the latest news about the Eclipse® by Cotton Rainbow?  The Eclipse® is the newest product on the market, which you place over your car seat or stroller to protect your child from the sun and other weather elements like a slight breeze, falling leaves, or dirt and dust.

Hot off the Press:  Follow the Eclipse®

Just like fashion, styles change rather quickly from season to season when it comes to apparel.  The same is true for baby gear; however, the changes seem to be in the way of improvements for a better quality product.  While I do admit that when it comes to baby gear there have been many new and unique products offered to the public, safety factors remain the most important.

Parents of today’s world have no lesser degree of concern for their child’s safety and welfare than in my day.  They are simply more active now.  Many times this is because more moms are on the go, as they undertake employment in the workforce and actively participate in their child’s social events in some manner or another.  They also strive to lead a healthier lifestyle, paying close attention to what foods they fix for their family, as well as getting plenty of exercise.  I do applaud them, as I too strive to do the same.

Every day I see a young mother with a stroller walking her baby in my neighborhood.  The mother is getting her daily exercise and her baby is getting the fresh air that he needs.  I have noticed though that on sunny days (which we have many in Florida), this young mother has used a swaddle blanket thrown over the stroller as a canopy to shield the baby.  On windy days, this poses a problem, as I have watched her attempt to anchor the blanket to the stroller to no avail.  I must introduce my neighbor to the Eclipse® product from Cotton Rainbow.

Thank you Cotton Rainbow, for providing me with one of your products, the Eclipse®, for the purpose of this review in exchange for my honest opinion.  The Eclipse® is folded over in this photo as it is quite large.

What is the Eclipse®?  The Eclipse® by cotton rainbow® is a universal car seat and stroller cover for moms on the go.  The most remarkable feature of the Eclipse® is that the corners, of the cover contain bags filled with cpsc certified polybeads.  These weighted bags eliminate the possibility that the cover will blow off when the weather is slightly windy, and to keep the sun from shining brightly in your baby’s eyes.  These bags are easily removable for machine washing.  The Eclipse® also features a convenient peek-a-boo window to allow you to keep an eye on your baby at all times.  The cover measures 42” x 34” (107 cm x 86 cm), which makes it ideal for either your car seat or stroller.  You merely drape the cover over the stroller or car seat for protection from the elements.  I love that these covers are so light and soft.  The Eclipse® is made in the U.S.A out of a breathable 100% cotton fabric, and comes in 8 fabulous colors and prints.

Ordering your very own Eclipse® is easy through the Cotton Rainbow Store.  These make great baby shower gifts for those who are expecting, as well as new baby gifts, too.

The buzz is alive on the company’s social media sites:  Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.  Be sure to check out these sites.

Keep your baby safe and sound when you are on the go with the Eclipse® from Cotton Rainbow.  Order your economical cover today.

Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership

As we wait for the market to open in a few weeks, I wanted to bring you some information for those parents who have a toddler who is entering the potty training phase of their life.  Every parent dreads the potty training stage of their toddler’s life; however, Pull-Ups® Training Pants and the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership makes the process easy.

Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership

As each child is different, there is no one set method to potty train your toddler.  One method that works for your child might not necessarily work for your second child.  I can remember training both of my children.  With my son, I had little difficulty; however, my daughter’s training was completely different.  I looked for signs that she was ready and attempted several times to start the process of potty training her; however, she showed no interest at the time whatsoever.  Consequently, it seems like it took forever to potty train her.  My daughter did not understand the process until the other toddlers in the daycare inspired her and she copied their behavior.  She quickly responded once she grasped the concept.  I only wish that the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership had been available at that time to assist me in training my daughter in this developmental stage.

This post is sponsored by Pull-Ups® Training Pants who provided me with a toddler travel kit. The toddler travel kit includes the following:

  • Pull-Ups® Training Pants (Cool & Learn, Learning Designs, and Night Time)
  • Pull-Ups® Big Kid Flushable Wipes
  • Travel Potty Seats
  • Snack & Play Travel Tray
  • Disney Coloring Books
  • Underwater Camera
  • Portable Charger

Symbolizing their promise to work together to navigate the world of potty training, the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership begins the first time toddlers put on a pair of Pull-Ups training pants.  The Pull-Ups® brand is introducing a whole new way to potty train – a system that brings your child into the process as a true partner, tailored to his or her unique personality and how they learn.

Based on research and observation of personality types in young children, Pull-Ups®, along with a child development expert, has developed five potty training personalities: the Puppy, the Owl, the Bear Cub, the Turtle and the Squirrel.  To assist you in determining what personality your child possesses, you can take the potty personality quiz at  This quiz provides information to help customize the potty training journey from the very beginning.  The Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership offers tips; tools and advice to guide and support you and your child as you learn together, including potty charts, stickers and games like the tools already listed.  It is important that you not revert to using diapers while potty training, as toddlers thrive on consistency and diapers do not teach potty training skills like Pull-Ups® Training Pants do.

Okay, you are all set to begin.  The most important thing to know about potty training is that every child potty trains differently based on their personality.  You have determined the specific personality your child resembles best.  Work with your child’s personality, instead of against it.  It is best for parents and toddlers to approach potty training as a journey, not as a finish line.  Do not rush ahead of your toddler’s interest level.  This was definitely what I did wrong in the process of training my daughter.  Read his/her signals.  If he/she is interested in taking the next step, he/she will respond positively to your suggestions to try the potty.  The potty training readiness quiz at helps to recognize some of the signs of readiness and determines when it is time to move forward with your family’s potty training journey.  The most common readiness signs include: pulling at a wet or dirty diaper, hiding to pee or poop, interest in others’ use of the potty, or copying their behavior, having a dry diaper for a longer-than-usual time, and telling you that they’re about to go, going, or have just gone in their diaper.

This is my niece’s daughter, Isabella, who is almost 21 months old.  Taking the quiz, my niece and I discovered that Isabella possesses an “owl” personality.  Isabella was beginning to display some of the most common readiness signs, so my niece felt it was time to begin the potty training phase using the Pull-Ups® Learning Designs.  Isabella simply loves her new Pull-Ups®.  The Pull-Ups® Learning Designs Training Pants are specifically designed to help teach potty training skills.  Isabella is learning to distinguish between wet and dry with the help of the Pull-Ups®, since the designs fade when wet.  Since the Pull-Ups® are more like underwear, the stretchy sides enable Isabella to slide her pants on and off while demonstrating her independence, as well as learning physical and cognitive skills.

Take advantage of the opportunity for you and your child to grow and partner together in the potty training process.  Potty training is more than just a skill to learn — it helps set the foundation for how you and your child tackle big challenges as a team.  As you teach and reinforce potty skills with your child, you will be successful both in training — and in strengthening your parent-child partnership.  Potty training is an exciting developmental milestone and the perfect opportunity for parents to partner with their children.

The Pull-Ups® brand offers three different kinds of training pants: Pull-Ups® Learning Designs® Training Pants, Pull-Ups® Cool & Learn® Training Pants, and Pull-Ups® Night*Time Training PantsFeatures of the various styles include:  Pull-Ups® Learning Designs® Training Pants have designs that fade when wet – so kids see the difference between wet and dry, while the Pull-Ups® Cool & Learn® Training Pants provides a brief cooling sensation when wet to help you teach your child the signs of when they need to go, and the Pull-Ups® Night*Time Training Pants have Extra Absorbency so parent and child can stay consistent during potty training – even at night.

In addition to the great Pull-Ups® products to assist you in training your toddler, other helpful products assist you while you are on the go.  The Pull-Ups® Big Kid Flushable Wipes help keep your child clean after the training session.  The Travel Potty Seat keeps that consistency your child needs.  The Snack & Play Travel Tray, which holds not only your child’s drink, but also some snacks, books, and, of course, a Disney Coloring Book and Crayons.  These are wonderful additions to keep your child’s mind occupied while traveling, especially on long trips.  Of course, you do not want to forget the Underwater Camera, so you do not miss any of those important pictures, and a Portable Charger to keep all those electronic games charged up for his/her entertainment purposes.

Pull-Ups® Training Pants are available at fine retail stores such as Target, Walmart, and Amazon to name a few.  You can also purchase the Pull-Ups® Training Pants through the company’s website by visiting, and to learn more about the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership ad discover your child’s potty personality.

Get sociable with Pull-Ups® social media pages, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and You Tube.

Ditching the diapers is a big moment in your child’s development.  Let the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership help you to navigate your progress, as well as to address any setbacks.  Before you know it, your toddler will be completely potty trained, and you will look back on the process and smile.  With the assistance of the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership, you made your child comfortable, as well as inspired them to feel confident in their abilities, as well as developing a closer relationship together.

Baby Bum Brush

My daughter is expecting baby number 4 and told me about this fabulous invention that she wanted to try out.  After having children, you are always changing diapers and some time you have to deal with diaper rash where you have to put that cream on the ole bum.  With the Baby Bum Brush you no longer have to try to clean that cream off your fingers.

Baby Bum Brush

Baby Bum Brush generously sent a blue Baby Bum Brush and a pink Baby Bum Brush to my daughter for the purpose of this review.  Rather than let me tell you how it worked, my daughter wrote her own account of trying out the new invention.

When I first saw this new little invention, I thought to myself, “Oh lord! What will they come up with next?”   Then curiosity got the best of me.  As a mother of three with one on the way I can say I have had some experience with diaper rash cream.  I hate using diaper cream but unfortunately all three of my babies have tender tushies and so it is a must in our house.

Why do I not like diaper rash cream?  It is so hard to get off your fingers!  I lather it on the tush then spread the extra inside the diaper and still have to do the one finger up in the air to wrestle the 20 month old back into a clean diaper and clothes.  The struggle is real!!!!

Well my new Baby Bum Brush diaper ointment applicator arrived and I was really excited to try it out!   It is one of those inventions that you don’t realize how much you need it until you have it.  I love it!!!  No longer do I have to do the one finger in the air wrestling match with my little man.   It cleans off so easily. Spreads cream perfectly.  It is definitely a must for all moms with kids in diapers!   I will continue using it for this next new little one due to arrive in June!!  As well as telling all my fellow mom friends about this great little find to help make life easier!!

I think this is such a fabulous product because getting that cream off your hands is rather hard and I could only wish that it would have been invented years ago when my kids were little and going through those diaper rash days.

My daughter is a registered nurse and as some of her co-workers are having or going to have their first babies, so Peg decided to give the pink Baby Bum Brush to her co-worker because her experience with the brush was so good that she wanted other mothers to experience the same thing.  Thanks Peg for sharing your find with other mothers.

Check out Baby Bum Brush and have a look at Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.  Then you can order online at Amazon or pick up at Kroger Stores, Toys R Us, Babies R Us, buybuy BABY or King Soopers and Giant Eagle stores.
